I remember during my primary school days, I obsessed in making friendship bracelets with embroidery threads, ribbons, beads and other such adornments. Lately, all sorts of inspiring DIY bracelet posts have cropped up around the web.

So today I have rounded up several wonderful bracelet crafts. Here are some of the designs that I wanted to share with you all. Happy crafting :)

Things I love...

Here are some of the things I love and own, and others that I wish to own...
1 This H&M Khaki Cardigan is my fave wardrobe companion that goes well with just about anything while running my errands. 2 Adding colors to my wardrobe, I love making and wearing these DIY Friendship Bracelets (stay tuned for steps on how to make these cutesies!) 3 Can't leave the house without this Starbucks Tumbler. They say we need to drink at least 12 glasses of water daily. I recently discovered the comfort of drinking fluids with straw. It does not make me feel like drowning!LOL 4 I'm in party planning mode for my son's upcoming birthday. This amazing Cricut Create Machine can make unique personalized cards in a jiffy. 5 Love at first sight! OPI Ski Teal We Drop nail polish is my new black. 6 It doesn't matter when I run in heels with these Zara Clogs. So far the most comfortable four inches sandals I have in my shoe rack.

Yin and Yang

We've just recently tried the newly opened Ganso-Shabuway Restaurant in Greenbelt 5 Mall. This Japanese style shabu-shabu is very simple and has lesser ingredients unlike our traditional Chinese shabu-shabu dish.
The restaurant's concept is mainly the yin and yang. From soup base, they served us seaweed broth and spicy miso base which reminds us of the tom yum. Down to their dipping sauces--a creamy sesame sauce that has a tinge of nutty taste; and a traditional ponzu sauce, which is like a sweeter version of soy sauce and added their freshly chopped condiments--garlic, red and green onions for more flavorful taste. It goes well with our beef and mushroom sets.

Thirsty again after one and a half hours of malling, DH and I decided to try out Toast Box Restaurant. I ordered Iced Chin Chow--soy milk with black grass jelly and Peanut Thick Toast. Yummmy!
My new fave combo!
While DH tried their Iced Lemon Tea. He said it reminds him of Hong Kong's Iced Lemon Tea.
Refreshing!

Totally Addicted!!

We dined in for three consecutive days in Toast Box. LOL
I'm also liking their Iced Barley. This reminds me of "am soup" but better :)
Childhood memories :)
Oh why oh why? This took them thirty minutes to serve :(
Quarter of Hainanese Chicken Rice
Good thing it didn't disappoint me but I have had better...

Mouthwatering SBC Ice Cream

Last Sunday, we had a good family brunch at Borough Restaurant, as always. While walking around the Podium Mall, DH is still craving for sweets (cheat day!). He saw an ice cream stand called Sebastian's, he approached and read the sign "the premium ice cream". Out of curiosity, he asked the sales lady why is it premium? The sales lady gave him a blank face. Out of frustration, he asked for their best selling flavor instead. She said "Salted Butter Caramel, Sir" and he ordered it. This is what we all can say--- indeed the yummiest, tastiest, creamiest and the best freaking ice cream anywhere, period!

We ordered another cup to fill our satisfaction. Had to take this photo on our way down before I empty the cup. Haha
our 2nd cup

We are still gushing about it down to this date. Until our next cup of Sebastian's SBC! Hayy...

Booties On The Way

After hours of sewing, finally here are the oh-so adorable baby booties. I had fun making them :)
I can't wait these little ones will be worn by Lucas and his cousins. Teehee... I'm so pleased with the outcome. I want to make more for DS.
clockwise: easy checkered booties; preppy booties; pink blossom booties; blue denim booties
Actually, I can't help myself and made one for him. Haha
main fabric in brown tweed and trimming in dark chambray

Audrey shared that there are two things she loves about these booties:

1.  Since Lucas is back in the stage where he loves to put his feet in his mouth! With these booties, she doesn't have to worry that he is eating rubber :)
2.  Lucas is also at the stage where he likes to remove his socks and shoes! The booties' comfy, but secure, garter band assures her that they won't come off so easily (and get lost!) even if he wrestles with them :)
More booties to come...

Booties Call

Last June 19, my son and I attended a kiddie party of hubby’s good friends Audrey & Cesar’s son Lucas’ first birthday. As part of our gift, I’ve decided to make him a handmade booties for more personal touch.

I am so thrilled that Audrey loved these booties and wanted to order more for her son, niece and nephew too.

She recently went to Hong Kong with Lucas wearing these booties everyday even though she brought other pairs of shoes but didn’t manage to use them. She explained that she appreciated the lighter booties since she was carrying him most of the time. I’m so flattered that even in Hong Kong there were a couple of sales ladies said it’s cute, she shared.
So excited for this next project! Check out these yummy fabrics!
Stay tuned for the finish products :)

Welcome to My World

Bonjour!

A brief introduction about myself and how I became me...

I was born premature barely 7 months old and weighing 2 pounds only. Like a size of a cat that can fit a bare hand. Who knew I grew up to be the tallest among my siblings and completely different. Since I was little, my parents especially my mom always complained that I have an eye for expensive stuff. I always choose the pricey ones (without knowing the price) even if we're at the flea market during one of our trips in Hong Kong. Since then my parents knew that I am the "cursed" child.

I first encountered the word FASHION during my primary school year 18 years back. The first time I saw Kate Moss on the CK ad automatically I fell in love with it and that's when my fashion love affair started.

I was poring over from cover to cover of British Vogue magazines instead of doing my home works. I would spend most of my allowance monthly just to buy a copy. I remember I made use the page of an ad as my books and notebooks cover. My good friend, Jerrilyn and I occasionally exchanged letters with our DIY stationery--we glued the backside of our favorite ad with bond paper. I named after our pet pomeranian, Gucci, for the love of the brand.

Growing up in a no-nonsense and frugal home has taught me to be creative to reach my goals. I remember asking my grandfather to accompany me to Divisoria to buy different kinds of beads to make bracelets and sell them to my fellow schoolmates, which I profited quite a good amount that resulted to more magazine purchases. Then I realized when I'm creating something on my own; I get butterflies in my stomach when I see people's positive reaction. So that motivates me to keep on doing what I know I am good at it. My parents saw the potential. That's when my mom told me that one day I should get a design related course in college.

A freelance interior designer, designer of a self-titled fashion clothing line {marie jane}, entrepreneur, a best friend's wife, and just recently became mommy to our dear beloved son, Yves Santino.

I believe that fashion is an addiction but as MFO's explains, being a fashionista is not simply interested in clothes and trendy must-haves; she knows herself and wears clothes to express her history and individuality. Her passion extends to art, culture, and social issues and disproves the impression that her kind has cashmere for brains. A fashionista derives satisfaction in looking and feeling good, but knows that what matters most of all is who she is beyond the stylish clothes.
